Anna Bartolo

Anna was called to the Bar in September 2025. She has experience in insurance law and general commercial litigation and accepts briefs in all areas of law. She regularly appears in the District and Supreme Courts of New South Wales.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Anna was a Senior Associate at various national and international insurance law firms and also spent time working in the in-house legal team of an insurer, where she provided legal advice to the business on a range of insurance issues and large professional risk claims.

Anna otherwise has a particular interest in commissions and inquiries, including coronial inquests.

With over 13 years’ experience as a solicitor in New South Wales, Queensland and London, Anna has developed a diverse legal practice, with a particular focus on insurance litigation, defending professional negligence claims and providing insurance policy coverage advice.

She has routinely acted for domestic and international insurers and their insureds, defending claims against professionals across various lines of business/industries, including directors & officers (including in class actions), financial institutions, solicitors and barristers, engineers and other construction specialists. Her experience also includes providing advice in relation to royal commissions and other parliamentary inquiries.

Anna has also worked as in-house legal counsel for an insurer and has experience advising insurers on regulatory and compliance issues, product development, reinsurance and litigation brought directly against the insurer.

Anna has also spent time abroad in London and worked as a solicitor on a global financial regulatory investigation, spanning across Europe and the United States.
