Prior to coming to the Bar, Jake first practised as a generalist solicitor, with a specific focus on commercial litigation, and later was a Senior Lawyer working predominantly on motor vehicle negligence claims.

He has appeared unled in Bankruptcy Hearings in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, Winding-Up Hearings in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Directions in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Motions and Trials in the District Court of New South Wales, Motions and Hearings in the Local Court of New South Wales and Hearings in the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT). He has also appeared unled in the Magistrates Court of South Australia and the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT).

Jake also has experience with Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms such as Mediations, Arbitrations and Conciliations.
