Two Wentworth Chambers' Hal Altan successfully assisted Kennedy & Cooke Lawyers' client, 95 year old, Dr Doust from being evicted from his home. The savvy Dr Doust sold his property to development company Riveaux Holdings for $2.2 million in 2020 under the condition that he could live in a house on the property for $1 a year, as long as it remained his permanent residence. Hal Altan was able to prove to the Supreme Court’s Hammerschlag J. that the property was Dr Doust’s permanent residence with no breach of agreement.
